…have launched a Kickstarter Campaign for their latest project: Run An Empire.
Run and Empire is a smartphone game where players compete against each other to ‘capture territory’ in their local environment by running or walking around it. The game combines strategic thinking of digital and board games with the real world physical actions to make sporting more fun.
Ben from Pan studio shares how his experience of working on the Knee High Design Challenge in Stage One influenced his latest work.
“Late last year we were part of the Design Council’s most recent open innovation challenge: the Knee High Design Challenge. Pan were working The Play Agency, a project that got under 5’s interacting differently with the space around them.
I found the experience hugely helpful as we developed Run An Empire. The Knee High team really helped us explore and best communicate what the offer for a project is; from engagement, through to the change we want to create. Even since the end of the project have really helped us think about how we measure and test the impact our projects have.”
This is a first Kickstarter campaign for PAN Studio, but the team are well known for other real world games experiences, having won the inaugural Playable City Award in 2013 with their project Hello Lamp Post, which has since been nominated for this year’s Design of the Year Award at the London Design Museum.
It would be great to see Run An Empire reach their target, check out their Kickstarter page for loads more info and demos!
